Bangladesh’s Test team, which was expected to travel to Pakistan on August 17 (Saturday), will instead prepone their travel on August 12 (Monday), according to a report on Cricbuzz. The two-match Test series against Pakistan begins on August 21 in Rawalpindi.
According to the report, Bangladesh’s foreign coaching staff have opted out of training sessions because their respective embassies have imposed travel restrictions.
That means they will be without most of their coaching staff: Chandika Hathurusingha (head coach), Andre Adams (bowling coach), Nic Pothas (assistant coach), David Hemp (batting coach), Mushtaq Ahmed (spin consultant) and Nathan Kelly (strength and conditioning coach).
"We cannot force them [the foreign coaching staff] to attend practice sessions given their travel restrictions. The fact that several police stations in the city are still not operating is a significant concern," a BCB official told Cricbuzz.
"We are working on getting the team to Pakistan earlier."
The reports also added that if selected, Shakib Al Hasan and Shoriful Islam will travel directly from Canada, where they are playing in the Global T20 League, to be with the team in Pakistan.
