Bangladesh vs Australia, 5th T20I: Fantasy Preview

Here are a few tips that might help you in creating your fantasy team for the fifth T20I between Bangladesh and Australia

Australia finally got over the line in the fourth T20 International (T20I), thanks to Dan Christian’s heroics with the bat. Three wickets from leg-spinner Mitchell Swepson and Andrew Tye helped Australia restrict Bangladesh to just 104 for 9. Having been 0-3 down, Australia now have a chance of making it 2-3, but at the end of the match, it will be Bangladesh who will walk away with the trophy. However, it would be a morale-boosting victory for Australia.

After losing three matches in a row, Australia finally managed to pull one back. They lead the head-to-head against Bangladesh, but it is the Asian side, that have a slender lead in the last five matches.

T20I head-to-head

Ground details

The pacers have picked up 60% of the wickets to fall in this series and have done so at an average of 13.3 and have struck once every 13.2 deliveries. Although the spinners (6) have been slightly economical than the pacers (5.7), when it comes to the runs per wicket (22.1) and balls per wicket ratio (23.2), they have been far behind.

Taking the pace off the ball has been key this series and the final game will be no different. The highest total to be posted this series has been 131 and the highest successful run-chase is 122, further showing the huge role bowlers have played.

Captain

Shakib Al Hasan had a game to forget in the fourth T20I. He scored just 15 off 26 and was plundered for five sixes in an over by Christian. However, we can write that off as a one-off occurrence and you expect someone of the class of Shakib never to go through something like that again.  Occupying the crucial No. 3 spot, Shakib will be key in Bangladesh getting a competitive total on the board. He has scored 103 runs at a strike-rate of 110.75 in the series so far. Only Mitchell Marsh with 152 runs has scored more.

Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Shakib could fetch 18 to 53 points in this match.

X-Factors

All-rounder Mahedi Hasan put in an excellent all-round performance in the previous match. He scored a vital 16-ball 23 down the order and with the ball, he finished with impressive figures of 2 for 17 from his four overs. With Shakib having an off day, Mahedi chipped in with both bat and ball. His team will hope that he continues in this manner in this match as well.

Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Mahedi could fetch 47 to 84 points in this match.

Mitchell Swepson produced a player of the match-winning performance in the fourth T20I and had much more impact than Adam Zampa had in the three games before that. Swepson picked up the crucial wickets of Mohammad Naim followed by the scalps of Mahmudullah and Nurul Hasan for ducks off consecutive deliveries. He proved to be quite a handful as his figures of 3 for 12 depicts.

Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Swepson could fetch 58 to 85 points in this match

Josh Hazlewood has quietly gone about his business in the series and is at the top of the table when it comes to the leading wicket-takers. He has picked up eight wickets at 10.62 and has picked up at least one wicket in each of his last six appearances in white-ball cricket. No Australia bowler has picked up more wickets than Hazlewood in T20Is this year. His 12 wickets have come at an average of 16.8 and a miserly economy rate of 6.6.

Our Criclytics Player Projector predicts Hazlewood could fetch 6 to 34 points in this match
