BCCI, ECB seek permission to have capacity crowd for T20 World Cup final

According to reports, the two boards have asked for 25,000 fans to be allowed for the showpiece's finale

The BCCI and Emirates Cricket Board have requested the UAE government to have a capacity crowd in Dubai for the T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in November 14.

According to ANI, the two cricket boards are keen to have 25,000 people attending the finale.

The T20 World Cup is scheduled to begin on October 17, just two days after the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 final.

"The BCCI and the ECB is keen to have a capacity crowd for the final. It would be an electric atmosphere if permission for the same if granted keeping all protocols in mind. The boards have sought permission from the authorities, keeping fingers crossed," the source told ANI.

The IPL has seen fans return to the stadiums. However, one does not need to take a RT-PCR test to enter the Dubai stadium, a Covid-19 vaccination proof stating that the person has taken both dosses would suffice. However, the rules are a ittle different in Sharjah where fans who are only 16 and above will be allowed entry and the fans need to carry PCR tests which are taken not more than 48 hours before entering the stadium, along with a vaccination certificate.

A green status on the Al Hosn App is a must for those keen to watch the games.

The rules are similar in Abu Dhabi, except fans between the age of 12 and 15 must carry a PCR report and must be accompanied by adults who are over 21.
