BCCI extends date to purchase tender document for new IPL teams
NEWSBCCI had extended for interested parties to purchase the tender documents till October 10 which has now been extended to October 20
The BCCI on Wednesday has extended the date for the purchase of the Invitation to Tender (ITT), a document needed for interested bidders for a new Indian Premier League next season, till October 20, 2021.
"The ITT will be available to interested parties on receipt of payment of the non-refundable tender fee of INR 10,00,000 (Rupees Ten Lac Only) plus any applicable Goods and Services Tax. All other terms contained in the Invitation document shall be applicable," an official release said.
The ITT was made available for interested parties by the IPL's governing council on August 31 and the date was extended till October 10. The purchaser of the ITT will be eligible to bid for either of the two IPL teams set to be included from next season onwards.
The BCCI is likely to tweak its player retention policy due to the introduction of two new teams for the next season which might force franchises to release their marquee players for the auction. Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni hinted that he might not play in the upcoming season due to the same while it was reported that KL Rahul is in talks to leave Punjab Kings.
The new teams are expected to be unveiled on October 25 in Dubai.
