From now on, India’s all home international matches will be sponsored by Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC), a large-scale private bank. After Paytm decided to move on from the domestic rights, Mastercard had the title rights for home matches, but that has now gone to IDFC Bank from the ODI series against Australia.
They will hold the rights for a period of three years, extending until August 2026, during which they will cover a total of 56 international games. With 987.84 crore coming through revenue, an increase of 60 lakhs per match to the base value of 3.6 Crore BCCI charged until the last rights cycle. The incremental revenue will ensure the BCCI will breathe easy and focus on selling the home telecast rights next month.
As reported by Cricbuzz, Sony Sports India Pvt. Ltd was also in the running to secure the home title sponsorship rights. That would have made them the second broadcaster after Star Sports to secure the series rights.
Recently, the BCCI onboarded online fantasy gaming platform Dream11 as the official sponsor of the Indian team after Byju's, the Bengaluru-based unicorn, which is going through massive financial challenges, pulled out of the sponsorship rights. The jersey sponsorship has also been grabbed by Adidas following Mobile Premier League (MPL) pulled out of the deal. Killer had the jersey sponsorship rights for a brief while which they bought from MPL through the secondary market.
