BCCI sets October 10 deadline for purchasing tender document for two new IPL teams

The BCCI plans to add new teams in the 2022 edition and teams could be from Ahmedabad, Lucknow or Pune

The BCCI on Tuesday (September 21) extended the deadline for purchasing the tender document for the two new IPL teams by five days till October 10. The Governing Council of the IPL had issued the 'Invitation to Tender' (ITT) document on payment of the non-refundable tender fee of Rs 10 lakh on August 31.

"Pursuant to request from interested parties, the BCCI has now decided to extend the date for purchasing the ITT document till October 10, 2021," BCCI said in a press release.

The BCCI plans to add new teams in the 2022 edition and teams could be from Ahmedabad, Lucknow or Pune.

The BCCI had also earlier announced 50 percent additional match fee for domestic cricketers affected by cancelled tournaments in the 2020-21 season and a hike in their remuneration for the upcoming season.

"Cricketers who participated in 2019-20 Domestic Season will get 50 per cent additional match fee as compensation for season 2020-21 lost due to COVID-19 situation," BCCI general secretary Jay Shah said in a tweet.
