Having impressed in the 2024 edition of the Delhi Premier League (DPL), where he scored 221 runs at a strike rate of 185.7, Vansh Bedi entered the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) as one of the most hyped domestic batters. It was expected that the youngster would shine for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
But as his Delhi colleagues such as Priyansh Arya and Digvesh Rathi scaled new heights, Bedi spent the entirety of March and April on the bench before being ruled out of the tournament in May due to an injury.
IPL 2025 turned out to be a season to forget for Bedi and CSK, but come DPL 2025, the 22-year-old has once again shown his crazy talent, as on August 8 (Friday), the right-hander played a whirlwind cameo of 31 off 9 balls for Purani Dilli 6.
Walking in at No.4, Bedi tonked the first ball he faced for a six and then reverse-swept the third ball he faced for a four. The right-hander then hammered three more sixes to race to 30 off 7 balls, before getting caught in the deep off the bowling of Lucknow Super Giants' (LSG) Prince Yadav, attempting a helicopter shot.
It's the kind of cameo that's left CSK fans wondering how this youngster did not get a single game in IPL 2025, over the likes of Deepak Hooda and Rahul Tripathi, especially considering the Super Kings endured their worst season ever.
