Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have named an unchanged XI for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on June 3 (Tuesday). It was PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer who won the toss and opted to field in the finale.
RCB’s in-form finisher Tim David continues to miss out after the Australian injured his hamstring during the league game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The big man, who hit 187 runs across nine innings at an average of 62.33 and a strike rate of 185.14, also missed RCB’s last league game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and the Qualifier 1 against PBKS. Despite his absence, RCB won both those games.
Meanwhile, RCB opener Phil Salt is back from England and is part of RCB’s playing XI. The England opener had travelled back home for the birth of his child after the first Qualifier, but has rejoined the set-up ahead of the final.
Meanwhile, PBKS have gone with Josh Inglis, Marcus Stoinis, Azmatullah Omarzai and Kyle Jamieson as their overseas players.
