Delhi Capitals have been handed a big boost, as Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman has been given a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) to play the Indian Premier League 2025. However, there’s a catch: the left-arm pacer has only been granted NOC to play the cash-rich league till May 24, which is the end of the group stage.
"As per the decision of BCB Cricket Operations, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to national team pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman for his participation in the ongoing IPL 2025 in India, for the period from 18 - 24 May 2025," BCB said in a statement, reported Cricbuzz.
Before his time in India, the left-arm pacer will represent the national team for their first clash on May 17 (Saturday) against the UAE. However, he won’t be part of the squad for the second T20I (May 19), as he will return to the squad ahead of the five-match T20I series against Pakistan, on May 25.
"It may also be noted that Mustafizur is available for Bangladesh's first T20 international against the UAE scheduled on 17 May 2025 in Sharjah.”
In Mitchell Starc’s absence, DC definitely will benefit from the left-arm seamer’s experience, as he will be part of the setup for the remainder of the league stage.
