Biju George joins Delhi Capitals as fielding coach

Apart from working with the Indian Women's team, George had already worked with Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunirsers Hyderabad in the past

Delhi Capitals have signed former Indian women's team fielding coach Biju George as the fielding coach of the franchise for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, replacing Mohammed Kaif in the role. The coach from Trivandrum comes up with a host of experiences to back his credentials. Apart from working with the Indian Women's team for a really long period, George had already worked with Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunirsers Hyderabad in the past. George also worked for Kuwait national team in between.

"We have taken him for the season and he comes with good years of experience - both in IPL and international cricket," a promoter of the franchise told Cricbuzz.

The coaching set-up led by Ricky Ponting also has the likes of Shane Watson, James Hopes, Ajit Agarkar, and Pravin Amre with George being the latest entrant.

Delhi Capitals players will join the bubble from March 10 in Mumbai even though skipper Rishabh Pant and other national players will join the squad a bit later. Currently, South African players will take part in the series against Bangladesh, albeit Anrich Nortje has been nursing an injury. He will join the squad after recovery while Lungi Ngidi will join after the Bangladesh ODIs.
