Bismah Maroof and Ghulam Fatima injured in a minor car accident

Fortunately, both Pakistani cricketers suffered only minor injuries after being involved in a car accident on April 5

Pakistan women’s team’s former skipper Bismah Maroof and leg spinner Ghulam Fatima suffered minor injuries in a car accident on Friday, April 5. 

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a statement on Saturday to announce the same, and they also informed us that both players were given immediate first aid and are under constant monitoring by PCB’s medical team. 

“The Pakistan Cricket Board has provided an update regarding two of its women players, Bismah Maroof and Ghulam Fatima, who were involved in a minor car accident on Friday evening. Despite sustaining minor injuries, both players received immediate first aid and are currently under the care of the PCB medical team,” the statement said. 

Maroof and Fatima are part of the training camp and probables for the upcoming West Indies women’s tour of Pakistan, which would involve three ODIs and five T20Is, beginning April 18. Maroof, 32, is Pakistan’s former skipper and has represented her national side in a total of 277 games (140 T20Is and 133 ODIs). Meanwhile, Fatima, 28, has played 20 games for Pakistan (15 ODIs and 5 T20s). 

Details on the fitness status of the two key Pakistani players are awaited.
