In what comes as a major blow for Gujarat Titans (GT), their star batter, Sai Sudharsan walked off the field with what looked to be a hamstring injury. He looked to stop a sweep shot from Suryakumar Yadav from hitting the fence, and in trying to do so, he seemed to have suffered an injury.
He was immediately helped off, but his future in the tournament remains uncertain. The incident took place in the final ball of the ninth over from Sai Kishore. Surya, who was looking to get a move on, swept the bowler for the third time in the over, but this time, he made excellent connection and beat the diving Sudharsan at long leg.
23-year-old Sudharsan has made a fine start to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He started off the tournament with a 41-ball 74 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in GT's first match of the season.
On March 29 (Saturday) against Mumbai Indians (MI), he slammed another fifty (63 off 41) to help his side to 196/8. GT lost their first match against PBKS, and at the time of his injury, they were in an excellent position to get off the mark in IPL 2025.
