Chennai Super Kings (CSK) owner is back with the team after a gap of over a decade, according to various reports. He returns as the chairman of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited (CSKCL), the company that owns the franchise. N Srinivasan and his daughter Rupa Gurunath joined the board in February this year.
The news was made official when the annual report, published on September 2 (Tuesday), confirmed that Srinivasan, a former ICC chairman and BCCI president, took over the company in May from his brother R Srinivasan.
While Srinivasan was the brains behind CSK since the Indian Premier League's (IPL) inception in 2008, he never held an official position in the franchise. Despite that, he had to quit as BCCI president in 2013, as conflict of interest allegations and spot-fixing allegations came to the fore.
In 2008, it was Srinivasan who pushed for the signature of MS Dhoni in CSK. He continues to play for the franchise to this day.
