England have captured global attention with their aggressive brand of cricket, popularly known as ‘Bazball.’ Although they couldn’t fully replicate this approach during their 2024 Test tour of India—except in the Hyderabad Test—fans are eagerly anticipating the Ben Stokes-led side to unleash it in the upcoming series.
However, Jasprit Bumrah remains unfazed, admitting that he doesn’t quite understand England’s style but finds it interesting nonetheless.
“Playing in England is always a different challenge. I always love bowling with the Duke’s ball. But I don’t know how much the Duke’s ball is doing right now because there are always constant changes to the ball. But the weather, the swinging conditions. And then when the ball becomes soft, there’s always a challenge. So I always look forward to playing in England,” Bumrah said in a conversation with Michael Clarke on the latter’s podcast.
“As a bowling unit, we always feel confident that when the batters are being ultra-aggressive, on a given day, anybody could run through and get wickets. They’re playing an interesting style of cricket, which is interesting because I don’t really understand it too much.”
Bumrah spoke about the importance of his family in his cricket career and why prioritising the family makes more sense.
“For me, my family is more important than my cricket career. Because, you know, family is constant. There are two things I take seriously one is my family, and the other is my sport. But family comes first. Because I won’t be a cricketer forever, and for my family, I’m not just a cricketer, I’m a human being. That’s why I give more priority to my family,” the speedster added.
