Nearly ten months after his last appearance, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is set to mark his return to international cricket in India’s three-match T20I series against Ireland. The three T20Is are set to be played on August 18, 20, and 23 in Dublin, and Hardik Pandya is expected to lead that Indian side.
However, KL Rahul, who injured himself during the clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Lucknow, isn’t fit enough to be part of India’s squad - against Ireland and Asia Cup. According to Cricbuzz’s reports, there is no guarantee over Shreyas Iyer’s place too in the squad owing to his injury.
According to Cricbuzz’s reports, the entire Indian coaching staff, including head coach Rahul Dravid, batting coach Vikram Rathour and bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, are set to be rested for that series.
Like last year, VVS Laxman is set to tutelage the team, with one of Hrishikesh Kanitkar or Sitanshu Kotak set to be India’s batting coach. Troy Cooley and Sairaj Bahutule are set to fight to be India’s bowling coach for the series in Dublin. It will also be the third squad that the new Chairman of the selection committee, Ajit Agarkar, will pick in his tenure.
