KL Rahul has decided that he will not put a foot wrong any more as far as his red-ball cricket is concerned. After smashing 532 runs in five matches in England at an average of more than 50 with two centuries, he hit a hundred in the very first match at home as well.
With this ton against West Indies on October 3 (Friday), Rahul notched up his 10th century as opener and went past his head coach Gautam Gambhir in the list of most Test tons by an Indian opener. At the same time, he also overtook former captain Rohit Sharma.

In the pre world-war era, the likes of George Gunn (England) and Warren Bardsley (Australia) had a gap of 17 years and 13 years, respectively, in between two home Test tons.
In modern day cricket, Pakistan’s Fawad Alam had a gap of 11.5 years between his two Test centuries, although not at home. Both of his tons came away from home.
Parthiv Patel of India had a gap of 12 years and 43 days between his two Test half centuries.
