Follow UsAnother brand new T20 league is set to begin on January 25 in Mangalore, Karnataka. The Coastal Big Bash League, approved by the KSCA, will run until February 1 and will feature some special young talents, including experienced Karnataka players.
The league includes six teams that will meet each other in a round-robin format at Sahayadri College Ground in Adyar, Mangalore. The teams were formed after an auction held on January 8. Suresh’s S Achar was the most expensive buy, bought for INR 1.4 Lakh.
The senior Karnataka stars, including Shubhang Hegde, KC Cariappa, Nihal Ullal, and Karthik CA, amongst others, are the league's icon players. The league has made it compulsory for the teams to feature at least one under-19 and two under23 cricketers in their 11. This step has been taken to ensure that the league fulfils its responsibility of nurturing young talent in the region.
