CSK Star Who Sparked Controversy In IPL 2025 Shines With Bat & Ball In TNPL
He took 2 wickets while striking at 300.00 with the bat in hand
Chennai Super Kings’ Gurjapneet Singh, whose injury paved the way for the franchise to sign Dewald Brevis as a replacement, had a game to remember against Nellai Royal Kings in TNPL 2025 on June 18 (Wednesday), with the 26-year-old shining with both bat and ball.
Gurjapneet was ruled out of IPL 2025 due to an undisclosed injury, and his injury became a bone of contention, with fans of rival teams accusing CSK of ‘manufacturing’ an injury to facilitate the signing of the exciting Brevis.
But the 26-year-old has been showcasing his worth so far in TNPL 2025, having taken 4 wickets at an economy of 8.5 while also impressing with cameos with the bat in hand.
He produced his best performance of the season yet, against NRK in Salem, taking 2/23 with the ball while lasting 24* off 8 with the bat in hand. With the ball, Gurjapneet removed both openers, but it was his cameo that proved decisive in the end as his side, Siechem Madurai Panthers, won by 10 runs.
Gurjapneet batted at No.11 but he produced a performance worthy of a promotion, hammering three sixes as he finished with a strike rate of 300.00.
