CSK’s 6.25 Cr Star Gets DROPPED In MLC, Could Get Released Before IPL 2026 Auction

He played six games for CSK in IPL 2025

In what could be a telling blow to Devon Conway’s Chennai Super Kings (CSK) career, the 33-year-old was dropped from the starting lineup of Texas Super Kings (TSK), CSK’s sister franchise, in the side’s Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 encounter against Washington Freedom at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas.

Conway had started MLC 2025 by being a regular in the playing XI, and in fact notched up a 44-ball 65 in the team’s first game of the season against MINY. He then backed it up with a 22-ball 35 against LAKR but managed 13 off 17 against Seattle Orcas and 23 off 23 balls against San Francisco Unicorns.

Following a very underwhelming string of scores, he was left out of the TSK playing XI for the game today. It didn’t matter, however, as the Super Kings slipped to their second straight defeat.

Bought for 6.25 crore at the mega auction, Conway could very well get released before the IPL 2026 auction, considering he had a very average IPL 2025 as well. He played 6 games and could only average 26 at a strike rate of 131.10. He did not register a strike rate over 150 in even a single innings.

In the same game that Conway was dropped for, today, Washington registered the highest chase in MLC history, chasing 221 in the final over.
