The next big bet for Chennai Super Kings?
All signs point towards the five-time IPL champions fighting with other franchises to secure the services of the 19-year-old batter, Kartik Sharma. The youngster smashed a sizzling 100 off 139 balls, smashing seven sixes in an unbeaten 212-run partnership alongside former Gujarat Titans’ batter Mahipal Lomror in their Ranji Trophy clash against Delhi on November 17 (Monday).
Earlier during IPL 2025, the 19-year-old was spotted in a couple of CSK camps and was among the young, exciting names on trial for the five-time IPL champions. Against a strong Delhi outfit, the right-hander was at his bludgeoning best, taking on the talented Manan Bhardwaj, against whom he scored 40 off just 15 balls, including hitting four sixes.
It wasn’t the first time that the right-hander has stepped up with the bat for Rajasthan. Earlier in the campaign, the youngster scored a sublime century against Mumbai, where he was involved in a huge partnership with Deepak Hooda.
Despite playing just seven T20s, the Rajasthan wicketkeeper-batter already has a reputation for being a hard-hitter, smashing 201 runs in six innings, averaging 33.50, and scoring at a strike rate of 164.75 with 17 sixes.
With MS Dhoni 44, and IPL 2026 likely his last, CSK would want to pick the 19-year-old for the future.
