CSK’s Young Star Called Up To South Zone Squad For Duleep Trophy 2025 Final
Karnataka's Smaran Ravichandran has also been added to the squad
Ahead of the Duleep Trophy 2025 Final against Central Zone on September 11 (Thursday), South Zone have been forced to make changes to their squad, with young Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star Andre Siddarth earning a maiden Duleep Trophy call-up. South Zone have also called-up Karnataka’s Smaran Ravichandran, who has had a dream start to his first-class career, averaging 64.50 after seven games.
Siddarth and Smaran come into the squad in place of Narayan Jagadeesan and Devdutt Padikkal, who have both been named in the India ‘A’ squad for the two unofficial Tests against Australia. The first of the two unofficial Tests between India ‘A’ and Australia ‘A’ will begin on September 16 in Lucknow, one day after the conclusion of the Duleep Trophy 2025 Final.
Meanwhile, Ricky Bhui has been named vice-captain of South Zone. Kerala’s Mohammed Azharuddeen will continue to lead the side.
South Zone reached the final after taking a 175-run first innings lead over North Zone. Jagadeesan (197 & 52*) was named Player of the Match for his efforts. Central Zone, meanwhile, took a 162-run first innings lead over West Zone despite conceding 438 runs in the first innings.
The final will be played at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence Ground in Bengaluru from September 11.
