CWI set to part ways with Jimmy Adams as Director of Cricket

The former skipper was at the helm of affairs since 2017 and will vacate the position once his contract expires in June 2023

Cricket West Indies has commenced the search for the new Director of Cricket after Jimmy Adams' term expires in June 2023. The former skipper of the Windies has been at the helm of affairs since January 2017.

"We are extremely grateful for the leadership and contribution that Jimmy has made over the past six and half years," Johnny Grave, CWI CEO, stated.

"He has overhauled our High-Performance structure, especially with respect to Coach Education & Development, Sport Science & Medicine and most recently, with the launch of our Academy based at the Coolidge Cricket Ground (CCG) in Antigua. I have no doubt that Jimmy will continue to contribute to the game, particularly West Indies Cricket," he added.

Under his astute leadership, West Indies started the Women's Caribbean Premier League and also developed the domestic structure in the country with High-Performance Coaching Groups and a dedicated selection committee for the women's team.

Adams was pleased to contribute to West Indies cricket for an extended period of time and hopes to be involved in some capacity in the future.

"It's been an honour to have been involved in the ongoing evolution of CWI. I have had the privilege of working with some amazing people across the organisation and am grateful for all the support they gave me over the past six-plus years."

"I wish everyone all the best going forward, especially in light of the various challenges that exist both regionally and globally," he concluded.
