Danni Wyatt returns to England's ODI squad for New Zealand series

Cross and Winfield-Hill too were named in England's 15-player squad for the five ODIs against New Zealand

Top-order batter Danni Wyatt, who missed the series against India, was included in England's squad for the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand on Saturday.

Wicketkeeper-batter Lauren Winfield-Hill and pacer Kate Cross were also named in the 15-player squad after missing the T20I series against the White Ferns which England won 2-1.

Head Coach Lisa Keightley felt that the series will be good for the team in their preparation for the 2022 ODI World Cup.

"It's a great test for us, and five more important ODIs ahead of the ICC Women's World Cup next year. It's a very busy schedule and we'll need to work hard throughout it to ensure players are in the best position to get through it, and it may well be that we need to manage the group in order to do that."

All-rounder Charlotte Dean, who starred in Southern Vipers' Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy last year, also received her maiden international call-up.

The series will begin on September 16 at Bristol with the remaining matches set to be played on September 19, 21, 23 and 26 at Worcester, Leicester, Derby and Canterbury.

England Squad for New Zealand ODI Series: Heather Knight (C), Tammy Beaumont, Katherine Brunt, Kate Cross, Freya Davies, Charlie Dean, Sophia Dunkley, Sophie Ecclestone, Tash Farrant, Sarah Glenn, Amy Jones, Nat Sciver, Anya Shrubsole, Lauren Winfield-Hill, Danni Wyatt.
