Following his maiden fifty in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), David Warner became the latest entrant into the 13,000-run club in T20s. He achieved this feat in Match 11 of the PSL 2025 against Peshawar Zalmi, against whom he scored 60 off 47 deliveries to take his side home.
As a result, he becomes the sixth player to hit 13,000 runs in T20 cricket and the first Australian to reach the landmark.
Only Chris Gayle, Alex Hales, Shoaib Malik, Kieron Pollard and Virat Kohli have more T20 runs than Warner. Overall, he is one of just three Australians, after Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell, to have scored more than 10,000 runs in the format.
Warner has played for 14 T20 teams, with his most successful stint coming in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). For them, he scored 4,014 runs at 49.56 and had a strike rate of 142.6. He also led them to the title in 2016.
Playing in the PSL for the first time after going unsold in the IPL auction, Warner, who is leading the Karachi Kings, did not get off to the best of starts. In his first four innings, he scored 12, 0, 31 and 3, but finally came good against Zalmi on April 21 (Monday).
The Kings are currently placed second in the PSL 2025 table with six points from five matches. They next take on Quetta Gladiators in Lahore on April 25 (Friday).
