DC in isolation after net bowler tests positive for Covid-19: Report

The Capitals are scheduled to play CSK at the DY Patil Stadium later today (May 8)

The entire Delhi Capitals (DC) has gone into isolation after a net bowler tests positive for Covid-19 ahead of their tie against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday at the DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai, according to a report on Cricbuzz.

The entire DC contingent has been tested on Sunday (May 8) morning and have been confined to their respective rooms ever since.

This is not the first time Covid-19 has wreaked havoc in the DC camp. Previously, a total of six members including all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, Kiwi wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert, physio Patrick Farhat and three other members of the backroom staff had tested positive for Covid-19.

In order to avoid travel, their games against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) were moved to Mumbai from Pune.

According to the franchises, the match will go ahead as scheduled. "We understand the match will go ahead, otherwise we would have been informed by now," a CSK official told Cricbuzz

"It is only a net bowler and all players are in their rooms. So we do not expect changes."

DC are currently in fifth position having picked up 10 points from as many games. They have a chance to move to fourth after tonight's match depending on the outcome of the RCB-SRH tie.
