DC rope in Priyam Garg as replacement for Kamlesh Nagarkoti

The pacer has been ruled out of the season with a lower back stress fracture

Halfway through the season, Delhi Capitals have announced a replacement for Kamlesh Nagarkoti, who has been ruled out of the entirety of the season with a lower back stress fracture. Uttar Pradesh's Priyam Garg, who has previously played 22 games for SRH between 2020 and 2021, before going unsold in the 2022 mega auction, will replace the 23-year-old.

Priyam has also captained the Indian U-19 side in the 2020 edition of the U19 Men's Cricket World Cup. He is yet to set the stage on fire in the IPL, and has an average and strike rate of 15.7 and 115.1 respectively.

Nagarkoti was signed by DC in 2022 for INR 1.10 crore, but played just a solitary game for them. His cricketing journey has constantly been marred with injuries, having played just 12 IPL games across five seasons.

Delhi got off to the worst possible start possible this season, losing each of their first five games. It was only a couple of days ago that they finally got off the mark, winning against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

They next take on ninth-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday, April 24.
