Tim Seifert tests positive for COVID-19, DC vs RR shifted to Wankhede

Friday's match between DC and RR has been shifted from MCA Stadium in Pune to the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai

Delhi Capitals batter Tim Seifert tested positive on Wednesday ahead of their tie against Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium.

The BCCI confirmed that the match will go ahead as planned, while announcing that Friday's match between DC and Rajasthan Royals has been shifted from the MCA Stadium in Pune to Wankhede Stadium.

"The decision on the change of venue was made as a precautionary measure after Delhi Capitals registered the 6th COVID case with New Zealand wicketkeeper Mr Tim Seifert returning positive in today’s RT-PCR testing," an official statement said.

Earlier, DC's Australian allrounder Mitchell Marsh, physio Patrick Farhart, sports massage therapist Chetan Kumar, team doctor Abhijit Salvi, and social media team member Akash Mane had tested positive.

The outbreak saw the Wednesday's clash being shifted from Pune to Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium.
