Delhi Capitals’ opener Jake Fraser-McGurk, who flopped in IPL 2025, smashed a 38-ball 88 in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 clash against LA Knight Riders, on June 14 (Saturday). The Australian opener had a terrible IPL 2025 outing for DC, accumulating just 55 runs in the competition, averaging 9.16, and striking at 105.76.
But come a new competition, the right-hander showed his attacking prowess, smashing eleven sixes against a strong Knight Riders’ bowling unit. Fraser-McGurk took a liking to van Schalkwyk, against whom he smashed four sixes in a row, taking his score to 34 off 11 balls.
The Australian opener didn’t spare the experienced West Indian duo either, with sixes against Andre Russell and Sunil Narine. When it seemed like the boundaries were drying up, the right-hander took on Joshua Tromp with three sixes in the 13th over, taking his score to 82 off 32 deliveries.
Eventually, Fraser-McGurk was dismissed for a 38-ball 88 but not before putting the San Francisco Unicorns in pole position to get over the 200-run mark. Finn Allen too continued his stellar form, smashing a 27-ball 52, with five fours and four sixes, carrying on his power-hitting streak.
