Delhi Capitals’ players lose bats among other equipment in transit

David Warner, Mitchell Marsh and Phil Salt are reportedly among the players who have been affected

Delhi Capitals are languishing at the bottom of the IPL 2023 table, with five losses. But their misery hasn’t stopped, with reports suggesting that the Delhi Capitals’ players have lost bats and other equipment in transit from Bangalore to Delhi. Delhi’s last encounter was against Royal Challengers Bangalore in Bangalore, and have been affected since then.

According to a report from Indian Express, a total of 16 bats, in addition to other sporting equipment like shoes, pads, thigh pads and gloves, went missing. David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Phil Salt and Yash Dhull were on the receiving end of the missing bats, with three, two, three and five respectively.

"All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags," a Delhi Capitals offical said. "This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police and later at the airport. The investigation is on."

Delhi players got the news about the missing gear and equipment after reaching their respective hotel rooms in Delhi. The Capitals have hired a logistics company to assist the players and the franchise for smooth transport from one venue to another.
