Not the best outing for Delhi Capitals’ young star, as 21-year-old Sameer Rizvi suffered a great humiliation getting out for an eight-ball duck in the UP T20 League clash against Noida Kings, on August 22 (Friday).
Rizvi didn’t have the best start to the UP T20 league, as the DC batter could only score 45 off 36 as his side, Kanpur Superstars, failed to chase down 226 in their 20 overs. In the subsequent two matches, the 21-year-old could only score 25 (18) and 19 (13), leaving the fans extremely disappointed.
However, just when everyone hoped that the youngster would turn his form and fortune around, Rizvi endured the highest humiliation thus far in the tournament. In the clash against Noida Kings, the right-hander walked out to bat early, at 13/1 in the second over of the innings.
But he couldn’t really get any bat on the ball, putting a lot of pressure on himself playing out seven dot balls on the trot. A delivery later, the right-hander got out for a eight-ball duck, enduring a rough evening, as the Superstars found themselves in grave trouble, at 28/4 while writing this article.
