Dewald Brevis Thanks CSK For Giving Him Opportunity To Play Cricket
The South African smashed 225 runs across six games at an average of 37.50 and a stunning strike rate of 180
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) had a terrible Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, finishing at the bottom of the points table for the first time in their history. However, Dewald Brevis managed to make quite an impression after coming in as a replacement player mid-way through the season.
Replacing injured Gurjapneet Singh, Brevis smashed 225 runs across six games at an average of 37.50 and a stunning strike rate of 180.
“Thank you to Chennai management, coaches, and everyone involved for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to do what I love – PLAYING CRICKET," Brevis wrote on Instagram after CSK’s IPL 2025 campaign came to an end on May 25.
“A special thank you to my teammates for making me feel welcome from day one. And to all our incredible fans in India, you were amazing. The atmosphere and support at Chepauk were unforgettable. I hope to be back soon."
CSK won only four of their 14 fixtures, but in Brevis, Ayush Mhatre and Urvil Patel, the five-time champions have found three solid batters who could serve them for years.
