Dhruv Shorey moves from Delhi to Vidarbha

He becomes the second player after Karun Nair to join Vidarbha as a professional player ahead of the 2023-24 domestic season

After playing 10 years for Delhi, Dhruv Shorey has decided to move to Vidarbha ahead of the 2023-24 domestic season, the 31-year-old made the announcement via an Instagram post.

Shorey becomes the second player after Karun Nair to join Vidarbha as a professional player this season. Vidarbha already have Ganesh Satish in their set-up.

Earlier this month, Shorey and Nitish Rana had asked for No Objection certificates (NOC) from the DDCA to play for other states for the upcoming domestic season.

Shorey has featured in 52 first-class, 60 List A and 41 T20s, scoring 3841, 1945 and 866 runs respectively. The right-handed batter averages 54.87 in first-class cricket and had a stellar 2022-23 Ranji Trophy. Delhi failed to qualify for the knockouts last season, but Shorey amassed 859 runs in 12 innings at an average of 95.44.

"I would like to express my profound gratitude for the great journey I've had with DDCA over the years. As I move on to the new opportunities, I would like to take this moment to express my sincere appreciation and gratitude for DDCA for giving me the opportunities to lead and learn," said Shorey.

"I would like to thank my coaches, playing staff, captains, senior players and teammates with whom I have had the privilege to play and learn from you. I would also like to extend my appreciation to Mr Rohan Jaitley for all his support during this journey."
