25-year-old Anuj Rawat continued his sizzling run, smashing a 38-ball 73 for East Delhi Riders in their clash against West Delhi Lions, on August 4 (Monday). Leading up to this clash, the left-hander had smashed 58*, 10*, 78, 79* and 33* in his last five clashes, and was in incredible form.
After being put in to bat first, the Riders lost their opener Sujal Singh after he scored 22 off 15 balls. Their No. 3 batter Hardik Sharma didn’t add a lot either, with a nine-ball seven, bringing Rawat out on the field.
The former RCB batter didn’t take too long, smashing a six off the second ball against Mayank Gusain. But from thereon, he had to slow down, scoring 17 off the first 16 balls he faced. However, once he picked up the pace of the wicket, and momentum was on his side, the left-hander accelerated.
Rawat smashed four sixes later on, and six fours to finish the innings on 73 off 38 balls. It took the East Delhi Riders to 208/4, as he stayed unbeaten.
