Dubai Police Restricts Use Of Fireworks, Flares For Asia Cup Final

The measures have been taken by the local authorities to ensure safety amongst escalating bilateral tensions between India and Pakistan in the tournament

The authorities in Dubai are employing strict measures to counter any mishap during or after the India-Pakistan final in the Asia Cup, 2025, which will be played on September 28 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Amidst the rising bilateral tensions due to the Handshake controversy followed by aggressive featuring in the following game, the Dubai Police has prohibited any use of fireworks or flares in the stadium or its vicinity.

The Dubai Events Security Committee has announced other stringent measures for the blockbuster game as well, and has left no stone unturned to prepare for the match. Violating any of their guidelines will lead to legal action, and the organisers have asked the viewers to strictly comply with all the regulations.

Apart from fireworks and flares, sharp objects, weapons, toxins and remotely controlled devices are also prohibited from the venue.

Notably, emotions are running high after India and Pakistan are meeting in the final of the Asia Cup for the first time in its 41-year history. The tense situation after Operation Sindoor has further exacerbated the tension surrounding the game as fans of both teams want their side to win the game passionately.
