100+ Avg, 95 SR: Ayush Badoni Continues UNBELIEVABLE Run In Red-Ball Cricket
He could be one big FC season away from a Test call-up
He might not be someone that’s been spoken of for a potential Test cap, but Ayush Badoni is, without question, one of the most in-form players in the country in red-ball cricket.
Today on day four of the Duleep Trophy 2025 clash between North Zone and East Zone, the 25-year-old continued his LUDICROUS form in red-ball cricket as he brought up his fourth first-class ton, getting to 150* at lunch to stretch North Zone’s lead over 700.
Scoring a century on Duleep Trophy debut is a notable achievement in itself, but in the larger scheme of things, this is ‘just another day’ for Badoni, who has been in outrageous form in first-class cricket.
The right-hander is averaging over 100 across his last seven first-class innings, and his last seven FC scores now read 150*, 63, 99, 60, 44, 205* & 49.
That’s 670 runs — and he’s not done in this innings yet — but the remarkable part is that these runs have come at a strike rate of 95.17.
A team India call-up might be too early at this point, but a breakthrough Ranji season in 2025/26 might just catapult the 25-year-old right into the mix, especially considering his age and profile.
Badoni’s leadership skills have been valued at every level as well, and so that quality will only further add to his case of a potential national selection.
