T20 World Cup 2024: Bravo appointed Afghanistan bowling consultant

Former West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has been appointed Afghanistan's bowling consultant for the T20 World Cup 2024, the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) announced on May 21 (Tuesday). Bravo is set to join the team ahead of their 10-day preparation camp in St. Kitts and Nevis. 

Bravo is also the bowling coach of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Bravo is the leading wicket-taker in T20s. having picked up 625 wickets and scored over 7,000 runs in the format. He is considered among the finest all-rounders in the world. In addition to his all-round abilities, he has also won the T20 World Cup, Champions Trophy, IPL, and the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). 

Afghanistan begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Uganda on June 3 in Guyana. Before that, they play a couple of warm-up games against Oman (May 29) and Scotland (May 31) at the Queen's Park Oval, Trinidad.
