Ellyse Perry, one of the best all-rounders to have ever played the game, will be spending a substantial amount of the 2025 summer in England playing for Hampshire.
Perry will be available for six Vitality Blast T20 games in July and two One Day Cup matches. If Hampshire reach the final of the Blast, Perry will also feature in that game. She will play her first game against The Blaze on July 4.
Perry has been great with the bat in T20 cricket lately and was the leading run-scorer of the last Women’s Big Bash League season. She also had a stellar Women’s Premier League (WPL), where she was yet again amongst the top scorers in the tournament despite playing two games less than players who got to play the final. She has already won six T20 World Cups and two ODI World Cups for Australia.
“I'm really looking forward to joining the Hampshire team this summer," Perry told the club's website on her acquisition.
"The club has been a leader within the women's game for the last ten years and I'm excited to have the opportunity join the team at such an exciting time for domestic cricket in England."
Paul Prichard, Hampshire Women's interim head coach, also expressed his happiness on Perry’s inclusion.
“Ellyse is one of the world's best cricketers and we are looking forward to welcoming her to the team this summer. Her record across all formats speaks for itself, and she will add a tremendous amount of value on and off the pitch.
"Our group of young players will learn so much from Ellyse, and I know our fans will be incredibly excited to see her in a Hawks shirt."
