Every time Jasprit Bumrah has bowled a fresh spell, he has picked up a wicket so far in the first Test against England at Headingley. His latest victim was Joe Root, who was caught at first slip. This is the 10th time Bumrah has gotten the better of Root in Test cricket.
Only Australia captain Pat Cummins has dismissed the former England skipper on more occasions (11). His countryman Josh Hazlewood, too, has dismissed Root 10 times.

Root was unsure of his footwork and just fished at the ball outside off, and hit it straight to Karun Nair at first slip. Ollie Pope had scored his ninth century in just the previous ball. Bumrah now has all three wickets in the innings.
Root, who has over 13,000 Test runs, has a terrific chance of finishing this series as the second-highest run-getter in the format after Sachin Tendulkar.
Earlier on Day 2, India collapsed from 430/3 to 471 all out thanks to four-wicket hauls from Ben Stokes and Josh Tongue. Barring Bumrah, other Indian bowlers have looked ordinary and will hope to put on a better show on Day 3.
