Joe Root took the catch to dismiss Shardul Thakur at first slip off Josh Tongue to complete his 210th grab in Test cricket. He is now tied with former India batter Rahul Dravid at the top for the most catches taken by a non-wicketkeeper in Tests. Dravid took 210 catches in 164 matches, while Root has achieved this in 10 matches quicker.

Root came into the first Test at Headingley with 208 catches to his name. He caught KL Rahul in the first innings to inch closer to Dravid, and in the next innings, equalled the Indian legend's record. Root is just one of five players in the world to have 200 or more catches in Tests.
Among England players, former skipper Alastair Cook is next to Root with 175 catches in 161 Tests. Root is also England's most successful catcher across formats (among non-wicketkeepers) with 316 catches, ahead of Paul Collingwood, who took as many as 219 catches.
The 34-year-old is also the fifth-highest run-getter in Tests with 13,034 at 50.71. He is just 345 runs away from going past Ricky Ponting into second place.
