England retain 16-man squad for Pakistan ODIs

Tom Banton, who was included in the squad for the final ODI against Sri Lanka, will be part of the contingent for the Pakistan series

England's current 16-man squad featuring in the on-going ODI series against Sri Lanka, has been retained for the upcoming series three-match ODI series against Pakistan.

The world champions will begin the series against the Babar Azam-led side on July 8 at Sophia Garden in Cardiff with the second ODI to be played at Lord's on July 10. The third and final ODI of the series will be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham on July 13.

Somerset’s Tom Banton, who replaced Dawid Malan in the squad for the Sunday's final ODI against Sri Lanka, will be part of the contingent for the upcoming series.

Malan, who pulled out of the Sunday's game due to personal reasons, will be among the absentees alongside all-rounder Ben Stokes and pacer Jofra Archer who is recovering from an elbow surgery. Stokes, who recovered from a finger injury he suffered during IPL 2021, is currently in action for county side Durham in the T20 Vitality Blast.

England will name their squad for the T20I series against Pakistan later this month.

England ODI Squad: Eoin Morgan (Captain), Moeen Ali, Jonathan Bairstow, Tom Banton, Sam Billings, Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Liam Dawson, George Garton, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Jason Roy, David Willey, Chris Woakes, Mark Wood.
