England to kick-start home summer with Tests against New Zealand

The Kiwis will play a couple of Tests, starting from June 2

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced that England will kick start their home summer with a two-match Test series against the No. 1 side New Zealand in June 2021. The first Test will be played at Lord’s from June 2-6, while the second match will be played at Edgbaston between June 10 and 14. 

ECB Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison, said: “The prospect of our England Men’s team taking on the world’s two top-ranked Test nations in New Zealand and India this summer is something for us all to savour,” according to ECB.co.uk.

At the conclusion of the Tests, Sri Lanka will visit England for a limited-overs series. Their tour will begin with a three-match T20 International (T20I) series, which will be played on June 23, 24 (Both in Cardiff), followed by the final match at the Ageas Bowl on June 26.

The two teams will also clash in a One-Day International (ODI) series beginning from June 29 and will go on till July 4. The matches will be played in Durham, The Oval before finishing the tour at Bristol. 

Pakistan will then play three T20Is and as many ODIs between July 8 and 20 before India's visit for a five-match Test series.
