The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced the international home season fixtures for the men's and women's teams. The season is set to begin with the England men and women's teams hosting Pakistan in a white-ball series. The Heather Knight-led side will play a three-match T20I series against Pakistan, starting May 11, followed by three ODIs from May 23 onwards.
The ODIs will be a part of the ICC Women's Championship. They are set to play their white-ball fixtures across 14 venues including Edgbaston, The Oval, The Ageas Bowl, and Headingley - before they take on the White Ferns, against whom they play three ODIs and five T20Is before June 26 to July 17 to end their season.
The Jos Buttler-led side, who pipped Pakistan in the T20 World Cup final in Melbourne last year, will play four T20Is against Babar Azam's side, from May 22, in the build-up to their title defence in the US and the Caribbean. The men's and the women's side will be in action simultaneously.
After the T20 World Cup, England welcome West Indies (July 10-30) and Sri Lanka (August 21-September 10) against whom they will play three Tests each. Australia will then return for a white-ball series in September where they will play three T20Is and five ODIs.
“After attracting record ticket sales this summer it is fitting that the England Women’s team will open the international season next year at an iconic venue such as Edgbaston," Richard Gould, ECB Chief Executive Officer, said.
“Next summer’s schedule will see England Women play at more venues and allow more people to see their heroes in action as we look to maintain the growth the women’s game deserves.
“Fans across England and Wales will also get to see our England Men’s world champions in action ahead of their T20 World Cup title defence, before three-match Test series against both West Indies and Sri Lanka."
