Enjoying How The Ball Is Coming Out: Prasidh Krishna
When asked if he’s thinking about the England Test tour, Prasidh remarked that it is on his mind, but the focus is certainly on the IPL
Karnataka and India pacer Prasidh Krishna is having a stellar run in the 2025 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), where he has already picked 19 wickets in just 10 games and holds the Purple Cap by virtue of being the highest wicket-taker in the competition so far.
Yesterday, against Sunrisers Hyderabad, he picked up two wickets for just 19 runs in his four overs as SRH fell short in the chase by 38 runs. Speaking after the game, the tall pacer said that he is really loving the way he’s bowling right now, and he’s happy with the accuracy of his line and length in the competition so far.
“I think my control over the length has been good, and all the work that we've been putting in as a team and everybody around has been supportive enough for me to get to where I am now. And yeah, I'm enjoying the way the ball is coming out of the hand,” Prasidh said.
He also explained how he prepares for a game and plans for certain batters.
“My preparation would start firstly by getting control over what I want to do, get back into the practice, get back in the nets, do exactly what I would do against somebody that I'd be facing in a particular game and then from there, get on game day, look at what the pitch is like," Prasidh added.
"If you're bowling second, make sure you watch every single ball of the 20 overs somebody else bowls, take all that you can from them.”
With the England Test series coming for the Indian men’s team right after the IPL, Prasidh would yet again be on the radar of selectors to be India’s third pacer after Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Notably, he played a game in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. When asked if he’s thinking about that tour, Prasidh remarked that it is on his mind, but the focus is certainly on the IPL
"I have a red ball in my room, playing around with it. Didn’t get it to the ground. Looking to take this tournament first, then look at what's coming later,” the right-arm pacer remarked.
