Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB)’s former wicketkeeper batter Srikar Bharat has continued his impressive form with a 40-ball 76 against Bhimavaram Bulls on August 19 (Tuesday). The wicketkeeper batter has looked in fine shape in the ongoing Andhra Premier League (APL), with 207 runs with a strike rate of 183.18 for Kakinada Kings.
Bharat continued that dazzling display in the clash against the Bulls during the run chase. Chasing 215, the Kings needed their openers to get off to a great start, and that’s what the duo of Bharat and Arjun Tendulkar did. While the latter smashed a 12-ball 31, with three fours and three sixes, Bharat played a more controlled innings.
The former Indian wicketkeeper batted through, watching a sad tale unfurl at the other end, where all the batters went back to the hut without harming the scorers too much. However, that didn’t hamper Bharat, as the right-hander found sixes with much ease, smashing three of them on the off-side, including one over the third-man region.
Just when he was upping the ante, Bharat holed out to PV Satyanarayana Raju, departing for a 40-ball 76. The right-hander scored 44 runs on the off-side and 32 runs on the leg-side during his stay at the crease.
