21-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal, who received a call-up for the two-match Test series against West Indies next month, says he is keen to go out there and express himself. Jaiswal has scored 1,845 runs in first-class cricket at an average of 80.21, which includes nine tons and a couple of fifties.
"My father started crying [when he got to know]. I have not yet met my mother; I am going to see her in sometime. I was out from the morning, had a practice session as well as some other work,” Jaiswal said in a chat with PTI.

Jaiswal also revealed that he will head to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru in a couple of days. Jaiswal was also one of the back-up players for the recently-concluded World Test Championship (WTC) final against Australia at The Oval.
“I am feeling good, I will try to do my best. "I am excited but at the same time I just want to go out and express myself,” the Mumbai batter said.
"I was a little nervous, till the time you do not get to know that your name is there in the team, there are butterflies. But it is a good feeling."
"My preparations have been going good and I got to interact a lot with the senior players. The conversation has been very simple – to focus on my work. I learned from them that in the end ‘it is all about you, how you take it going forward',” he further added.
Jaiswal recently lit up the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, scoring 625 runs at a strike-rate of 163.61 for Rajasthan Royals (RR).
According to reports, the Indian team will travel to Bridgetown, Barbados for a week-long training camp, ahead of the first Test against West Indies in Dominica on July 12. The action will then shift to Trinidad for the second Test, starting July 20, followed by the white-ball leg of the tour which consists of three ODIs and five T20Is.
