‘F*** Off Now’ - Gambhir Involved In HEATED Altercation With Ground Staff: WATCH
“I’ll have to report you to the match referee, okay? Okay? I’ll have to report you,” the ground staff can be heard saying.
Extraordinary scenes unfolded at The Oval two days before the start of the fifth Test between India and England as team India head coach Gautam Gambhir was involved in a heated altercation with one of the ground staff during the visitors’ practice session.
It’s unclear what prompted the argument, but, according to a Times of India report, Gambhir was reportedly unhappy with the facilities provided to the Indian side.
In the video, released by Press Trust of India (PTI), the ground staff can be heard saying to Gambhir that he will have to report the India head coach to the match referee for his words.
“I’ll have to report you to the match referee, okay? Okay? I’ll have to report you,” the ground staff can be heard saying.
Responding to the ground staff, Gambhir can be heard saying, “Go report, whatever you do, go f*** off now.”
The duo had to be separated by batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, who himself then had a lengthy chat with the ground staff. Gambhir, however, didn't stop there. A few seconds later, he can be heard saying, "Don't f****** get into a discussion with him."
Gambhir then can be heard telling to the ground staff, "You don't tell any of us what to do. You have no right to tell us what to do. You are just a groundsman, stay in your capacity."
