Faf du Plessis Joins MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle In Special ‘Evergreen’ List With Fifty

Faf du Plessis has been one of the most consistent run-getters in the Indian Premier League (IPL) over the past few years, and he’s begun his stint with Delhi Capitals (DC) in fine fashion as well.
He started his DC career off with a quickfire 29 (18) in his side’s first clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), and today against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) notched up his first fifty for DC, amassing 50 runs off 27 balls. It was du Plessis’ 26th fifty-plus score since the start of IPL 2020 - no batter has more during this period.
However, by getting to fifty today, du Plessis notched up a much more prominent record. He became the fourth-oldest batter ever to score a fifty in the IPL. He also became the fifth batter overall to score a fifty in the IPL after turning 40.
