Fans Think I Look Like Rohit Sharma And George Clooney: RP Singh
The former Indian pacer also shared his memories of the post-T20 World Cup 2007 celebrations
Member of India’s victorious 2007 T20 World Cup squad, RP Singh has revealed that he has been mistaken not only for India’s ODI captain Rohit Sharma but also for Hollywood superstar George Clooney.
Speaking on Star Sports’ Cheeky Singles, RP said: "I’ve been mistaken for Rohit Sharma on several occasions, not just once, but many times.
"And it doesn’t stop there. Someone even called me ‘George Clooney’ once on social media. I told them, ‘Now that's too much!’”
The hilarious exchange had everyone in stitches, with the show’s host cheekily replying: “Inhone khud ke doosre account pe jaake likha ye (He wrote that himself with a different account).”
RP quickly fired back: “Ek account manage nahi hota, do kahan manage karenge (I can't manage one account, let alone two!).”
The former left-arm pacer, who finished the 2007 tournament as the joint second-highest wicket-taker with 12 wickets in six matches at an average of 12.66, also shared his memories of the post-World Cup celebrations.
"We won the T20 World Cup in South Africa, celebrated there, and then landed in Dubai, where a few people congratulated us for lifting the trophy. When we finally landed in Mumbai, we thought we had achieved something special, but the celebration parade was beyond anything I had imagined.
"The roads were closed, and people were throwing things, chocolates, and even a small cake that someone tossed towards me saying, 'Please hold it and cut it.' I told them, 'Don't do this, it might fall.' It was raining, yet the crowds' energy was electric, with people celebrating wildly alongside us.”
