He has been in good form in first-class cricket, impressed in the three red-ball matches for West Indies A against Bangladesh A, finishing as the leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps at 25.69. He also smashed 149 runs at 49.66, including a couple of fifties.
Will it be a wise call for India to hand in Test debut to Ruturaj Gaikwad? Granted that the batter has not done anything earth-shattering, having hit 592 runs in first-class cricket at 53.82, but given his confidence he carries after another excellent IPL, it would perhaps not be the worst of ideas.
