Fantasy
The most scenic venue in India has hosted only four ODIs. The game against South Africa in 2020 was abandoned without a ball being bowled. In the other four, teams batting first have been bundled out for less than 200 twice, 226 once, and one score of 300+.
One of the primary reasons behind that is the early movement that the seamers get during the early part of the day. Given it is a day game, the only time there will be any help for the pacers will be during the first ten overs of the day. Teams have averaged 37.3 while chasing in comparison to 22.9 batting first.
Pacers have picked up 67.9% of the wickets at the venue, so it will be a no-brainer for both teams to pack their XI with a lot of pace options.

Grand League Punts
- Keep a keen eye on Najmul Hossain Shanto, who is walking into the World Cup on the back of some great form in the Asia Cup. While he could only score two in the previous clash, the southpaw scored a scintillating 76, 104 and 89 in his previous three ODIs. That 104 came against Afghanistan, the last time these two sides met each other. So, you could bank on him to once again be amongst runs here in Dharamshala.
- While you will most definitely pick Rashid, you should bet on Fazalhaq Farooqi in this particular clash, considering the venue. The venue is a paradise for pacers, but the interesting part is that it is an unknown venue for left-arm pacers. Powerplay is key to winning at the venue, and that's why you should insist on Farooqi. The left-arm pacer has been the third-best pacer in the powerplay phase in ODI cricket since 2022, with 18 wickets, only behind Mohammed Siraj, joint-best with Matt Henry. He is a grand-league punt because of his high variance, with an economy rate of five in the powerplay.
